Digital Skills for Citizens ‘Getting Citizens Online’

The Digital Skills for Citizen Scheme is funded through the Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment.

Taught in collaboration with FIT’s Community Partnership Network, this initiative is actively supporting people to get online and enjoy all that the internet has to offer.

FIT has trained over 50,000 people in Digital Literacy

FIT helps to deliver this 10 hour introduction course to a diverse range of new internet users including:

  • People over 45
  • Farming communities
  • Small business owners
  • Unemployed
  • Persons with disabilities 
  • Disadvantaged groups

Getting Citizens Online Student Manual

The internet is a wonderful resource and should be used by everybody. However, almost one in six Irish adults has never used the internet. FIT have put together a student manual for those who are taking part in the Getting Citizens Online programme.
