StepIn2Tech, the two-year digital skills training programme developed in response to the pandemic by Microsoft Ireland in partnership with FIT, has now ended. The programme exceeded its target of supporting 10,000 learners.

In its place, Microsoft has introduced the Skills for Jobs programme. It is comprised of new courses and nine professional certificates to help people learn the foundational skills as well as the hard and soft skills needed for in-demand tech and tech-enabled jobs.

In its place, Microsoft has introduced the Skills for Jobs programme. It is comprised of new courses and nine professional certificates to help people learn the foundational skills as well as the hard and soft skills needed for in-demand tech and tech-enabled jobs.

How can Skills for Jobs program help me?

Skills for Jobs program is a global skills initiative, designed by Microsoft and LinkedIn, which is providing free access to 350 courses and nine new Career Essentials Certificates for nine of the most in-demand jobs in the digital economy. Using data from LinkedIn and the Burning Glass Institute, Microsoft analysed job listings to determine nine of the roles in greatest demand: Generative AI, Sustainable Tech, Cybersecurity, Administrative Professional, Project Manager, Business Analyst, Systems Administrator, Software Developer or Data Analyst. 

Through this initiative Microsoft and LinkedIn will be offering up to 50,000 LinkedIn Premium subscriptions to help learners from non-profit partners of Microsoft and LinkedIn, who complete a career certificate, get access to the 18,000 LinkedIn Learning courses offered through Premium. And this skilling content is available to anyone, right now, at opportunity.linkedin.com – completely free, no fee, no paid subscription.

The programme is designed to discover new career paths, learn relevant skills with an overarching aim of helping learners to secure in-demand jobs.

Join us for an AI Skill-up-a-thon – a one-day event in a blended learning environment focused on demystifying Generative AI.  The training will help you to develop an understanding of generative AI models, learn the ethical considerations of using generative AI, and explore the impact of generative AI tools.
