In December 2024, students from Belfast Royal Academy and Scoil Ui Mhuiri attended a cross-border visit as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Schools Pathways Programmes.
The Advanced Manufacturing Pathways Schools Project is a pioneering programme providing an opportunity for students to learn about developing career opportunities in advanced manufacturing.
The aim is to empower students and provide them with the skills, knowledge, and cultural awareness needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
The Advanced Manufacturing Pathways School Project will include a training programme for teachers in areas such as 3D printing, Additive Manufacturing, Design Thinking, Robotics, ideas generation, project development and group work.
The project will include cross community school visits and an end of year celebration with interactive workshops, guest speakers and networking opportunities for students to connect with professionals in the area of advanced manufacturing. Four secondary schools from Louth and four high schools from Belfast will take part in the programme over the coming school year.
