On the 11th of March 2025, FIT hosted the Tech Ambassador Awards as part of the Choose Tech programme. The award ceremony recognised and celebrated the great achievements of the numerous organisations and educators involved in the Choose Tech Programme, who are continuing to inspire young people and to provide support & information around the pathways available to a tech career including pre-tech & tech apprenticeships.
The award ceremony also hosted some amazing guest speakers, including past Choose Tech participants, Aimee and Ashlee Keogh winners of the Irish Science Teachers Association Awards at the BT Young Scientist in 2025, Olivia Humphreys winner of the James Dyson Medical Appliance of the Year 2024, and Gemma McGee, FIT Tech Apprentice who shared her story of the programme. Another highlight from the day was from the participants of Choose Tech’s first pilot Artificial Intelligence Project 2024-2025, with three participating schools: Loreto College Crumlin, Cabinteely Community School and St. Mary’s Holy Faith Killester. Each team showcased their projects on the day, with some fantastic presentations from the teams. The overall winner on the day was Cian Bermingham from Cabinteely Community School for his project AI and ChatGPT.
Huge congratulations to all of the award winners on the day, and thank you to all of those who continue to inspire their learners through the Choose Tech Programme. A special thank you to Salesforce for their hospitality and guidance, helping make the awards such a success on the day. We look forward to the next one!
