Youthreach Ardee Leaving Cert Applied

Course Aim

The LCA is a single award made on the basis of credits accumulated over two years and in the final examinations. A candidate may accumulate 200 credits. Candidate achievement and performance is recorded in three modes as follows:

• Students gain credits from Key Assignments completed in class.
• Students all do projects called Tasks throughout the year.
• Students sit six exams in June

The Program is broken into 4 sessions, running over the two years.
Students must have at least 90% attendance.

The LCA is awarded at three levels:

Pass 120 < 140 credits (60 – 70%)
Merit 140 < 170 credits (70 – 85%)
Distinction 170 < 200 credits (85 – 100%)

Requirements

QQI / Junior Cert Level preferable at entry but not essential
