Course Aim
Youthreach is a second chance education and training programme for young people aged between 16 and 20 years who have left school with few or no qualifications. It seeks to provide learners with knowledge and skills to help them to reach their full potential and enable them to progress to further education, training and employment.
LMETB supports 8 Youthreach centres across counties Meath and Louth. Each centre offers a wide variety of both accredited and non-accredited programmes, all delivered in caring, supportive and structured environments. Programmes run from September to July each year with referrals accepted throughout the year.
Requirements
Education: Applicants should have a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 3 when accessing a Level 4 programme. Applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education although no formal qualifications are required.
Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work under direction with some ability to work on their own initiative.
