St Johns College Cloud Computing

Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and competencies to enable him/her to pursue a career in Cloud Computing and/ Coding. Learners will gain knowledge of key areas in Cloud Computing including Virtualisation technologies (specifically focusing on VMware) and Distributed Systems. The design, test and development of software will also be studied whilst learning how to code in Java and C#.

Development supports and progression strategies are provided to develop the learner’s personal effectiveness and job seeking skills so as to maximise employment potential and capacity to compete in the labour market.

Requirements

• QQI Level 5 Award in Computer Systems & Networks or in a related area is required.
• Alternately solid experience in Programming may suffice.
