Course Aim
This course will provide you with the skills and confidence to work in clerical, administration or reception work places. A person can also progress to third level education. Learners on this course have the option of completing it over one or two years and can do the ICDL free of charge. Help is provided with cv preparation, mock interviews and work placement. The course is full time, but family friendly. Childcare supports are also available for eligible learners. This course is part of the VTOS programme, therefore there are no exam fees and class resources are provided free. Those recently made redundant are eligible to come on to this course. Class times are family friendly and due to Covid 19, some modules will be face to face and also on-line.
Progression
Learning Objectives On completion of this programme learners will have the skills, knowledge and competency to restore, retrieve and process information, work independently and under supervision in a range of information processing contexts and/or to progress to higher education and training.Requirements
Education: Applicants should have a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 4 when accessing a Level 5 programme.
Applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education although no formal qualifications are required.
Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous
Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.
