Course Aim

This course is designed to introduce students to the extensive variety of practical techniques and theoretical knowledge that underpin the fundamental skills of a journalist. It will offer you an opportunity to learn modern skills in the areas of broadcast, print and online media. A large proportion of the programme is project based so the learner will work using a variety of platforms from magazines/newspapers to broadcast and online media. The course provides students with new digital tools and practices and better ways to engage the public in a rapidly changing digital world.

Requirements

• Applicants must be 16+ years of age on entry to the course.
• Leaving Cert, LCVP. LCA or QQI Level 4 Major Award is essential.
• Mature applicant route available for applicants aged 23+.
• Competent written and spoken English (CEFR B2 or Higher)
• Non-EU/EEA applicants must have permission to work in Ireland.
