Congratulations Tech Apprentice Graduates!

We were extremely proud to celebrate the achievements of 71 Tech Apprentices with the City of Dublin ETB and Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitisation on Thursday, the 12th of June in the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield.

The ceremony proceedings marked a significant milestone for those who graduated following the recent completion of their two-year Software Development Associate, Computer Networking Associate, or Cybersecurity apprenticeship programmes with the Civil Service.

A special thank you to the Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation Emer Higgins, John Moriarty, Director of Transformation at Knowledge FET at City of Dublin ETB and Tech Apprentice Neil Macken who were guest speakers throughout the graduation ceremony. Andrew Finn, Director of Academic Affairs and Programme Development at FIT was the master of ceremonies, with the presentation of scrolls facilitated by FIT CEO Peter Davitt; Rachel Egan, Lead Tutor for Software Development in Liberties College (City of Dublin ETB) and Louise Doyle, Apprenticeship Coordinator in Cathal Brugha (City of Dublin ETB).

This graduation ceremony was particularly special, as it was a first for FIT, with graduation events for tech apprentices traditionally held within some of the larger events hosted by FIT’s longstanding training partners.

Are you interested in becoming a Tech Apprentice in 2025? We have eight Tech Apprenticeship programme intakes in Software Development, Cybersecurity and Computer Networking this September and October. Apply directly for a programme here.
