Huge congratulations to FIT Apprentice, Jack Yeates who won the ICT Category award at the Apprentice of the Year Awards on the 23rd of October! The event, which took place in the Mansion House in Dublin, showcased the incredible achievements of Apprentices in a variety of sectors around Ireland. FIT were proud to have 11 Tech Apprentice nominees at the award ceremony on the night, celebrating all their hard work throughout the two years.
Jack recently completed his Software Development Associate Apprenticeship in 2024, and it’s been fantastic to look at some of the incredible projects he’s worked on during that time.
Over the last two years, Jack spoke at numerous Apprentice events and Career Fairs, speaking to parents, students and teachers about the fantastic opportunities available through apprenticeships, and sharing his fantastic experiences throughout the programme.
One of the highlights was the Choose Tech Coalition meeting where Jack provided an insight into the life of a tech apprentice and reinforced how the introduction of Choose Tech to schools will benefit young people by building the key skills required in the technology employment sector. The FIT ‘Choose tech’ programme is a tech taster initiative developed for DEIS schools and Youthreach Centres nationally and is supported by Salesforce.
A fantastic achievement, and a testament to his hard work throughout the Tech Apprenticeship programme! We look forward to an exciting career ahead for Jack!
