22nd October 2020 – FIT, whose commitment to preparing individuals for careers in technology has not wavered in the midst of a global pandemic, has been named Apprenticeship Partner Newcomer by CompTIA, the non-profit association for the global technology industry.
FIT is one of 18 organisations recognised by CompTIA during 2020 in its Europe, The Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Partner Awards hosted ahead of the CompTIA EMEA Member & Partner Conference in October 2020. More than 1,000 people from multiple countries across the EMEA participated in the online event.
FIT CEO, Peter Davitt welcomed the recognition “FIT highly values the partnership with CompTIA which supports FIT in including globally recognised certifications in its Tech Apprenticeship. It is these global partnerships that underpin our tech apprentices attaining outstanding skills at the cutting edge both for today and for the future in a quickly evolving tech world.”
CompTIA’s Partner Awards recognise the CompTIA Authorised Partners that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to developing tech talent by offering CompTIA certifications to prepare students for careers in information technology (IT).

FIT has embedded CompTIA certifications in its national Tech Apprenticeships in Cybersecurity and Network Engineering. CompTIA’s status as the global leader in vendor-neutral technical education and certifications enhances the recognition of FIT Tech Apprentices by tech employers as competent to a globally recognised standard. FIT is enormously proud of the efforts of its Tech Apprentices; its ETB education partners and tutors in continuing to make excellent progress towards completion of these programmes in these Covid-19 times.
