Title: Placement Officer

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Role & Context

Key operational responsibility for the delivery of employer facing services for FIT – with regard to the training, employment and progression of FIT participants. Tasked with establishing industry collaborations and initiatives that enhance FIT’s ability to engage with employers in order to assist job seekers access demand-led training with a view to progressing into mainstream employment opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To develop a wide range of qualitative contacts with industry / employers which will support the implementation of FIT’s Operation Plan with regard to the development of curriculum, mentoring supports and the placement services to FIT participants.
  • To promote FIT’s industry programmes and develop other opportunities to work with employers on pre-recruitment activities which promote opportunities for FIT client to progress into employment.
  • Facilitating a private sector perspective in the compilation of employability strategies / policy and programme development.
  • Development and maintenance of an employer database of client companies availing of FIT Internship and Recruitment services. This will include generating recruitment leads and circulation of vacancies through agreed protocols of communication.
  • Identification of ICT / technology related recruitment needs and skills shortages across sectors.
  • Providing job matching supports to job ready clients following progression from FIT programmes.
  • Develop and deliver an Employment Support Programmes that assist employers meet their recruitment / productivity needs.
  • Devise, implement and monitor a range of marketing and promotional activities and events directed at employers in the development of FIT as a strategic recruitment conduit for employers.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties that may be required.

Person Specification

  • Familiarity with multi-partner projects including hands on experience of needs analysis, planning, scheduling and evaluating outcomes.
  • Requires excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in ICT including Microsoft Office Suite, web/online tools & project management software.
  • Capacity to present FIT achievements and proposals in a variety of fora gaining the interest and commitment of potential funders, partners and collaborators.
  • Time management and organizational skills to balance multiple projects, partners, concurrently.
  • Appreciation of socio-economic / labour policy or related fields such as education and training.
  • Self-motivated and driven with a genuine interest and belief in the process of helping people to change their lives through training and education.

Minimum Qualifications

We seek applicants with the following qualifications:

  • 2 or more years’ experience in areas such as Sales, PR / Marketing, HR and or in maintaining Multi-Stakeholder networks.
  • A third level qualification demonstrating a strong business development and programme management ability is desirable but not essential
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
