Course Aims

This is a technology based practical course is designed for individuals who wish to re-skill and obtain the skills and knowledge required to work efficiently and effectively in a busy business environment. An employee with excellent adaptive skills that can use technology to assist the business run efficiently and this is an essential element in every organisation. This course gives participants a thorough mastery of technology applications. Graduates learn to use the right type of ICT effectively to assist administration duties of the business. The graduates of this course are well qualified in all high level office technology skills.

All multi-nationals, financial companies, hotels, travel agencies, small local businesses, local government agencies like hospitals, schools and councils require top quality IT and administration support.  Most students secure a job in an office when they complete this course. There is also progression to higher level Institutes. This course would also suit someone who has deferred a college place and wishes to develop IT skills while taking a year out.

WORK EXPERIENCE: 1 Day a week (Note the Capstone for Office Informatics and the Work Experience Module are very interlinked).


This is a PLC course and college fees apply for this course however if you are in receipt of a social welfare payment you may be eligible for a fee reduction.

You may also be eligible to avail of a Back to Education Allowance (BTEA). The BTEA is an educational opportunities scheme for persons in receipt of certain social welfare payments and who wish to pursue an approved full-time second or third level course of education in an approved college leading to a recognised qualification.

Higher Certificate in Business, BA (H) Accountancy, Bachelor of Business, BA (H) in Finance and Investment
