Location:  FIT Ltd, 7a Bellevue Industrial Estate, Glasnevin, Dublin 11. 


Working Hours: 39 hours per week. Typical working day is 8.30am – 5.00 pm but the post holder will be required to work outside normal working hour (i.e. evenings and weekends) on occasion.

Reporting to: Director of ICT Associate Professional Tech Apprenticeship Programme.


Role & Context

FIT is the National Coordinator for the new NFQ Level 6 Tech Apprenticeship: ICT Associate Professional with a target intake of 250 Apprentices in 2018 rising to 1,000 by 2021. The Digital Media and Marketing Professional will assist with the successful deployment of the ICT Associate Professional Apprenticeship Programme being implemented by FIT in collaboration with the National Apprenticeship Council, SOLAS, Education and Training Boards, ETBI, Technology Ireland and the wider tech sector. A key task in this digital marketing role will be to establish the new Tech Apprenticeship as a credible and appealing talent pipeline which delivers great career prospects to all interested.

The main focus of the role will be:

The Digital Media and Marketing Professional will develop, manage and maintain a successful digital marketing campaign for the National Tech Apprenticeship. To reach and engage all key beneficiaries and stakeholders namely: apprentice candidates, tech employers, educationalists, parents / guardians, career guidance professionals, educational institutions and the wider public utilising all medium of communications and, in particular, digital media formats. This role involves being a leading member of the Tech Apprenticeship programme by supporting the effective engagement of tech employers and a volume of apprenticeship candidates leading to the realisation of 250 Tech Apprenticeships nationally in 2018 and rising to 1,000 by 2021.


Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Management and development of FIT’s digital marketing campaign that will deliver firm communication and promotional strategies to support the national roll-out of the new national ICT Associate Professional Tech Apprenticeship.
  2. Creation of imaginative and far-reaching digital marketing content and strategies to support the successful promotion, establishment, public awareness and adoption of the tech apprenticeship.
  3. Work cross functionally with strategic and operational teams to execute the marketing strategy across all digital platforms including websites, social media platforms, digital marketing mechanisms etc. – utilising on/off page search techniques to drive and increase quality website traffic.
  4. Development, real-time maintenance and administration of the fully-digital platforms.
  5. Use post click behavioural analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  6. Using UX enhancements, improve front-end design and assist with administrative updates and changes to FIT’s current digital media presence.
  7. Plan and execute all web, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) / Search Engine Marketing (SEM), marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns.
  8. Competent in the design, build and maintenance of FIT’s social media presence.
  9. Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals.
  10. Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on such knowledge.
  11. Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies and plan, execute, and measure experiment and conversion tests.
  12. Collaborate with internal teams to create relevant and appropriate landing pages and optimise user experience.
  13. Utilise strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
  14. Collaborate with all relevant agencies and other vendor partners.
  15. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide the thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.


Person Specification

  • Suitable qualification in marketing or a related field plus a proven track record in successful digital marketing
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Experience in optimising landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Solid Working knowledge of ad serving tools (e.g. DART, Atlas)
  • Experience in optimising Google AdWords campaigns
  • Knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Full clean Driving License free and own transport.
