Course Aims


The software technology sector is Ireland’s fastest growing sector. Almost all of the world’s leading software companies, including IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, Google, and Facebook have a significant presence here. In this course you will learn the basics of software programming, web design, networking and databases. The course provides an excellent foundation for those wishing to pursue higher education while providing the learner with both the theoretical and practical skills needed for work in the IT industry.

Progression to Further Education and Higher Education

Progression into Kerry College of Further Education (KCFE’s) Level 6 in Advanced Software Development. Students who successfully complete this course may progress into many Level 6, 7 and 8 (Higher Certificate, Ordinary Degrees and Honours Degree) courses in various Institutes of Technology and Universities throughout the country.
