Course Aims


The aim of this course is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and competencies to enable him/her pursue a career as Cloud Computing professional. Learners will gain skills in virtualisation, specifically focusing on VMware’s technologies, as well as distributed systems which are the key areas of Cloud Computing. Areas of study will also include software design and development in addition to web design and development.

Requirements


All VTOS applicants must be over 21 and in receipt of or a dependent of a Social Protection payment for at least 6 months before starting the course. Participation in a CE or FAS scheme counts in the calculation of six months once you must be in receipt of a relevant Social Protection payment immediately before starting the course.All applicants who present for this course will be given individual guidance by qualified tutors who are in a position to make recommendations as to what courses may suit their learning needs.

You may also be eligible to avail of a Back to Education Allowance (BTEA). The BTEA is an educational opportunities scheme for persons in receipt of certain social welfare payments and who wish to pursue an approved full-time second or third level course of education in an approved college leading to a recognised qualification.
